ACPA has begun an exciting new relationship with Taylor & Francis’s Routledge division as the publisher of ACPA Books. While ACPA worked for many years with Stylus Publishing, we’d like to offer our reassurance that our books line has moved into good hands.
First, ACPA Books remains interested in book proposal submissions on topics related to, but not limited to, the following: student growth and development; diversity and equity in higher education; student access, success, and retention; mental health among college students; and campus safety. Proposals will be evaluated based on the topic’s potential for contribution to the field and the author’s/editor’s ability to present new and significant information and observations about the topic. We have every confidence that ACPA members are experts in these topics and can create proposals for books that can impact the field of higher education and student affairs.
Second, we have worked with our contact at Routledge to develop a detailed packet of guidelines for potential authors and editors to use. These are available in the ACPA Books section of the ACPA Publications web page. Our role as ACPA Books co-editors is not to act as a gatekeeper but rather to support you as you develop your proposal for submission. We are happy to speak with interested authors and editors to help shape your proposal.
Wherever you are in the process of proposing and writing a book, we are here to help. Please contact us at Jenny Small ([email protected]) and Kari Taylor ([email protected]).
Wishing you all a successful start of the academic year,
Jenny Small and Kari Taylor
